Thank You for Your Support

Dear Friends:

Well, the results have come in. Unfortunately, we have fallen short.

I appreciate everyone who provided their donations, endorsements, time, and other support. I have been honored to have received such a great outpouring of support during the course of this campaign.

Success is half hard work, a quarter timing, and a quarter luck. It seems we lacked the latter two in this campaign. However, I am confident one day the right timing and the right luck will be there.

I congratulate my slatemate Rick Ledesma on his overwhelming re-election to the board and my other slatemate Tim Surridge on his victory toppling the union incumbent. I am elated our OUSD campaign has delivered a stronger conservative majority on the board.

In closing, I will note that politics is much like a sport. You don’t win every time, but you do come back to try again the next time. After all, I will note four years ago, the incumbents in Areas 1 and 5 defeated the candidates I supported for OUSD. We elected the defeated Area 1 candidate to a different seat two years ago, and tonight, we have defeated that Area 5 incumbent. In short, I have worked to elect good conservative OUSD trustees for the past four years, and I will continue to work to elect (and re-elect) good conservative OUSD trustees in 2012 and beyond.
